Old Idaho Penitentiary

The Old Idaho Pen operated as the state prison for 100 years before a 1971 riot burned in two of its buildings to the ground. Since that time the state has built a new prison, and turned the old one into a museum. A new exhibit will occupy the old shirt factory building and tell the story of 100 years of crime, punishment, and life behind bars in Idaho.
